Urea resin

Characteristics of urea resin

Whereas many plastics use petroleum products as raw materials, urea resin has also attracted much attention due to the fact that it uses urea as the raw material, which is inexpensive and readily available.

In addition to being a colorless and transparent solid material that is easily colored and can be finished beautifully, it is also hard and lightweight.

Furthermore, because it hardens rapidly and has strong adhesive properties, it is widely used as an adhesive for wood. Urea resin also has superior arc resistance, electrical insulation and flame restance; however, it has a drawback compared to other plastics in that it cracks easily when used in conjunction with metallic inserts.

Moreover, because it is a highly water-soluble material, there is a problem in that it has low resistance to water, making it unsuitable for use in close proximity to water, moisture, and so on.

As a thermoset plastic for use in molding, it is a material primarily used in the fabrication of electrical parts.

Applications of urea resin

We have met the following customers' needs.

[Customer request]
We are considering having a compression molding using urea resin

Urea resin is a colorless, transparent solid material that is easily colored and can be finished beautifully. Also, it is hard and lightweight.

However, the demand for urea resin itself is small, so at present there are few companies carrying out molding with urea resin. Our company does perform molding with urea resin, and we are happy to meet customers' needs for small lot orders, or rare items.

Melamine resin

Characteristics of melamine resin

Melamine resin has a high degree of surface hardness, water resistance, chemical resistance, and weather resistance, as well as superior strength, electrical insulation properties and the like. Because it is colorless and easily colorable, it is widely used as a material for the surface of decorative panels, and in paints for architectural materials, ship building materials, automobiles, etc.

Applications of melamine resin

Electrical/structural parts (wiring/lighting parts, plugs, outlets), wiring hardware, control parts, sliding parts, electrical/electronic parts (power source switches, relay cases, breakers, table tops), arc extinguishing chambers

We have met the following customers' needs.

[Customer request]
We are considering having a square panel with 10cm sides and a thickness of 1cm molded from melamine resin (or urea resin).

Melamine resin and urea resin both share the common features of being colorless and easily colorable. This request calls for a material that has the features of melamine resin (or urea resin).

We provided this customer with a molded product fabricated using compression molding.

Polyimide resin

Characteristics of polyimide resin

Polyimide is among the types of thermoset plastics having the highest degree of heat resistance. Since the 1960s polyimide has been used in applications for artificial satellites and other space exploration programs, as well as in military applications and the like. In addition to having superior heat resistance and electrical insulation properties, because it has excellent resistance to wear from friction at high temperatures and other friction properties, it has become widely used for general consumer applications, and has fulfilled a number of needs developed in accompaniment with the growth of the electronics industry.

Applications for polyimide resin

Electrical insulation materials, roller bearings, heat insulation axels, heat resistant trays, satellite parts, automobile parts, electronic parts

Diallyl phthalate resin

Characteristics of diallyl phthalate resin

Most notable of diallyl phthalate resin are its electrical properties and dimensional stability. Because it maintains superior electrical insulation and dimensional stability properties under high temperatures and high humidity, with little deterioration, it is in general demand as a molding material for applications in electronics, communications, and aeronautics.

Also, because it is capable of being molded under low pressure, it is optimal for application in various types of encapsulation of electronic components and the like, and in recent years demand has been expanding for application in mobile communications devices, such as mobile phones and laptop computers.

Applications for diallyl phthalate resin

Switches, connectors, coil bobbins, IFT bases, terminal boards, laminating sheets, electrical and electronic parts, automobile parts, aeronautic parts, parts for equipment used on seafaring vessels, decorated boards

We have met the following customers' needs.

[Customer request]
We would like to fabricate molded products for application in communications devices using a molding material that has high electrolytic corrosion resistance and is very strong.

Based on the specifics of the customer' s request, we determined that diallyl phthalate resin would be the optimal material, and proposed its use. The customer had from the start wanted to use diallyl phthalate resin, but had been unable to find a manufacturer that had the capability to work with it, so they were very happy to learn that we could.
We have a fairly large number of customers who searched high and wide for a suitable manufacturer before finding us.
